After the “Restorative Justice” conference, carried out in Cardiff, we performed an interesting activity with the students of fifth grade. The game is called “Spider’s web”. Students sit in a circle. One person holds a ball of wool in one hand and the end of it in the other hand. He/she throws the ball to the person they respect and lists features that values in him/her. The student who receives a ball does the same thing towards the other student, motivating which features he/she likes about him or her, and so on. A ball going from one student to another creates a tight net. As a result, the student who has the biggest tangle of wool is the most respected in the classroom. The aim is to motivate students’ desire to be valued and respected in the classroom. The activity is going to be repeated successively every two weeks.
