Super Food!!

Did you know that food can be grouped depending on its colour? And that same colours share many characteristics and properties? So this is what primary students at Martinet School have discovered with this activity. Not only they have group food into different colours but have made a research to see what is behind the common sentence: “This is healthy.. eat it”. What means to be healthy? What  properties benefit our body? Now we have the right answers!!

INFADIMED NUTRITION PROJECT PRESENTATION AT MARTINET SCHOOL

During the Erasmus week  we had the pleasure to welcome Jordi Fernandez from the Pediatric Team in the Health Department. He showed teachers and families a very successful project that he has carried out in different schools and we may introduce from next year at Martinet School: “INFADIMED: Infància i Dieta Mediterrània” (INFADIMED: childhood and Mediterranean Diet”. The aim of this project is to show students the importance of healthy eating through stories and heroes characters. The target is to set students from 3-years-old in the centre of actions, trying them to be aware what they should eat if they want to be like their heroes. If students learn and choose what they want to eat, they can show their parents at home too!

PROJECT EXHIBITION AND STAR ASSESSMENT

During the Erasmus week at Martinet school we prepared an exhibition to show most of the exchanged activities and work we have done with other partners. We also prepared some evaluation stars where students, teachers and families could write what they liked most and have learnt with the Erasmus Project at our school. There are very interesting comments!!

New posters for our project (A43)

The pupils of the sixth grade of 11th Primary School, Haidari, created their own posters for our Erasmus H.A.P.P.E.N.S program . The three posters are related to the three topics the children have been working on for the past two years: sports, mental health and balanced nutrition. Once the posters were ready, they hung them on the school walls and in other areas of the city of Haidari. In this way, they wanted to share the things they learned with the rest of the students and with their neighbours as well.

Well done guys! Excellent work!

Erasmus+ H.A.P.P.E.N.S Celebration in Haidari, Athens, Greece

An event in celebration of the end of Erasmus H.A.P.P.E.N.S took place in the 11th Primary School of Haidary on Wednesday 31st of May 2017.

During those two years all students, teachers and parents of our school and the wider community focused on well – being through healthier eating habits, an active life style and a work-life balance.

Students of all grades presented through dancing, singing, painting, reading and playing scenes of their everyday life showing the numerous benefits they have gained from this project.
The responsibility for coordinating the event had the Erasmus+ happens team with the help of many teachers of the school.
Local authorities, the mayor, teachers and head teachers from other schools, parents and families were present and enjoyed the ceremony.
In the end everybody left with a smiling face thinking how simple things can make our life healthier and happier.
